My Favorite Signs in Southeast Asia

I guess you really can’t trust anyone else to roll your sushi these days.

If you ever hear that someone conceived while visiting Koh Tao, you know why.

This sign is not  funny on its own.

It’s funny because all three of these signs were all referencing the same step. This establishment does not have much faith in its customers and their ability to manage the one step. (Plus the floor wasn’t wet.)

A bit ambiguous…

I knew a guy who used to tell this joke: “What do you call Thai food in Thailand?” Answer: Food. Well, guess what jokester? You were wrong.

So far, Marissa and I have also seen a few great names for businesses. These were my favorite ones:

Best Hotel Name: OK View Resort
Best Restaurant Name: Will Wait Restaurant

What are the best signs you’ve seen on your travels? Funniest Hotel Names? Restaurant?

I like how there are smiling faces on the condoms and how they are buy 10 get 1 free with a question mark at the end. I bet Mr. J has at least 20 kids.

    I think i met a japanese once.

    • Somewhere Or Bust

Certainly better than a frowning one…

Not the funniest sign I’ve ever seen (too ominous) nor even my favorite, but the one that made the most lasting impression was a billboard I noticed while driving past a Los Angeles pawn shop circa 1984 which read “Pawnbroker to the Stars!”

    • Somewhere Or Bust

I like it Michael, but yes a bit dark.

In Plitvice National Park in Croatia, I saw this sign warning visitors not to iron dogs:

    • Somewhere Or Bust

It looks like it would mess up their coats.

Haha I love these signs. I live in Miami and just went to a Peruvian restaurant, and the menu had something with “Shrimp crap cream sauce”, yum.
